Vanessa Yanow resides in Montreal, PQ.

It is unsurprising that Vanessa's sculptural jewellry designs tend to emerge from her experiments in sculpture making. After flame-working with borosilicate glass tubes and rods by heating, melting, blowing, stretching, flattening, pulling and playing in front of a mid-range torch, she merges her glass creations with other material, (primarily textiles) through sewing, gluing and wrapping. Vannessa takes inspiration from a variety of people and things, including Louise Bourgois, Tara Donovan, and Kiki Smith, snorkeling in tropical waters, micro-organisms, the many textures and colours in nature.
