Making History - Art Acquisition Fundraising

Judy Chicago, until now, has been without a presence in any Canadian public gallery or museum collection! It’s time to act, to honour and to recognize :

One of the world’s finest living artists
• A visionary: creator of the highly acclaimed, yet controversial The Dinner Party, Birth Project and Holocaust Project, to name but a few - monumental, multi-dimensional, challenging works
• A woman gifted in lifting up the talents of others
• A catalyst for social change, committed to raising awareness of injustice
• A feminist, using the power of art to counter the erasure of women’s contributions and achievements
• A humanitarian, addressing what others choose to ignore
• An activist, living in debt for much of her adult life, rather than compromising her principles
• A scholar, surrounded by discussion and debate, as well as beauty and intelligent thoughtfulness
• An educator, envisioning a lasting footprint of women’s realities

Working with the Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery we have a chance to give and ensure that a piece of Judy Chicago’s work has a place in Canada. Make this a part of your 2008 charitable giving. Note that you will receive a charitable receipt for the full amount.
